Understanding the Insurance process.

Each insurance company creates different processes that can make your repairs flow smoothly.

People involved and how they assist.

The person at the insurance company that you speak to is the insurance adjuster. He/she will give you your claim number, their contact information, information on your deductible and loss of use (rental coverage) if any.

The person who assesses the damage on the vehicle is the appraiser. He/she can be employed by the insurance company themselves, be a independent appraiser or the body shop can write the appraisal and it can be reviewed by the insurance company with the help of digital pictures.

No matter how the estimate is created, your insurance company will provide you with a copy of the approved estimate for your records.

The Deductible.

Your deductible is determined by the insurance policy and due at the end of completion of repairs. Customers are responsible for this deductible unless insurance notifies the body shop otherwise.

Concerns with estimate approved by insurance.

Every insurance company has different requirements that will determine repair parts or processes. Many times cost of repairs remain manageable by using aftermarket repair parts. This is a common practice with most insurance companies and whenever possible we attempt to use parts requested. But if these parts don’t fit properly, we advise the insurance company, document with pictures and attempt to find alternatives.

Understanding the process.

The Auto Shoppe has qualified appraisers on staff that can explain all work and parts issues that are involved with estimates. Bring in your repair estimate and we will be happy to walk through the repairs documented. Shop appraisers are on hand to review estimates written by our in house service or those written by other appraisers.
